NCC 2025 readiness

NCC 2025 is operative in some states today, NCC 2022 still applies in others.

ABCB published NCC 2025 on 1 May 2026. Victoria, the Northern Territory, and Tasmania are operative on the new edition from that date. The ACT runs a 12-month transitional window. New South Wales and Queensland remain on NCC 2022 until 1 May 2027. South Australia and Western Australia have not yet announced an adoption date.

A practitioner shouldn’t have to track all of that. DatumDesk leads with the edition operative for your jurisdiction today, and surfaces what changes for you later.

How DatumDesk handles the split

Both editions in the corpus. The right one cited for your state.

Practitioners in different states are bound by different editions of the same code today. DatumDesk lets you pick your jurisdiction once and gets every answer right after that.

  • Both editions, fully parsed

NCC 2022 (Volumes One, Two, Three, Housing Provisions) and NCC 2025 (same set, published edition). Every clause is chunked, tagged, and retrievable with inline page-cited sources.

  • Jurisdiction-aware by default

Pick your state once. DatumDesk leads with the edition operative there today, and surfaces what differs in the other edition as forward-planning information, never as binding compliance.

  • State variations tracked separately

NCC volumes plus state appendices and ministerial determinations. Victorian VBA guidance, NSW Fair Trading bulletins, QLD QDC parts, SA modifications, ACT determinations — all distinct from the national text and flagged when they vary.

  • Auto-flips when your state changes status

ACT goes mandatory on 1 November 2026. NSW and QLD on 1 May 2027. The jurisdiction map updates the moment the announcements land — no redeploy required for the operative edition shown in your answers.
